Fly Me To The Moon

“Fly me to the moon” she said,

He asked her reason “Why?”

“I need to leave this world behind,

And reach beyond the sky”.

“Close your eyes my love” he said,

And took her hands in his

“I’ll teach you how to fly my love,

And grant you all you wish”.

Green to blue then punctured black

She rose without her room,

Now free beside the twinkling stars

With her beloved groom.

Through a night that never ends

They felt their bodies lithe,

Until they saw what they had feared,

The outline of the Scythe.

Clothed in grief

He wept beside

Her final resting place.

“Fly me to the moon” he cried,

And fill this empty space.
